Alvaz Adnan, a student of PakTurk School Lahore presented her biology project regarding pre-treatment of bread mould to remove Azodyes from effluent of factories to win silver medal. The INEPO Eurasia, held once a year, encourages students from around the world to develop projects that can solve environmental issues.

Commenting on the success, Chairman PakTurk Unal Tosur said Pakistan students had been leaving others behind in almost all the international competitions which had encouraged us to boost investment in education in the future of Pakistan. “We aim to shape the view of Pakistani students to think on global scale while being dedicated to their traditions and values; they should be well acquainted with the competitive environment and capable to cope with the on-going and forthcoming challenges,” he said. “We will continue to encourage students become independent, innovative and knowledgeable so that they can become great leaders in the years to come,” said Tosur.

Thursday, April 11, 2013 – Environment has never been matter of concern for Pakistan and the tendency goes further chronic as all mainstream political parties, bracing for participation in the forthcoming polls, have placed environment issues at the bottom of their draft manifestos for 2013 elections. United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), adopted in 1992 and entered into force in 1994, and as a result the adoption of Kyoto Protocol initially in 1997 (which later entered into force on 16 February 2005), has dubbed it necessary for all to have more vibrant climate change policies at political and national level across the world.

However, in Pakistan, politics has all glamour but blind to environment issues. Indifference on the subject gets more appalling because common people especially civil society have not bothered to bash political leadership for downplaying environment matters in their manifestos. Adding insult to injury, various NGOs engaged in revamping environmental degradation, government departments and independent associations, national and international, have also opted out to remain silent over the situation.

6% GDP lost to environmental degradation in Pakistan
KARACHI: Environment must be adopted and elevated as a priority subject on the election agenda and mainstream political process.
Environmentalists expressing their views on the subject, during a session organised by IUCN – Pakistan identified Climate Change, Biodiversity Loss, Clean Air and Clean Water and Environmental Governance as the subjects needing utmost attention.
The unanimous opinion was that
unless, the people of Pakistan consider environmental degradation as their personal loss, things will not improve.
Referring to Pakistan’s acute vulnerability in the wake of climate change experts mentioned that Pakistan is identified to be the 8th most vulnerable country in the Global Climate Risk Index. This is coupled with the fact that it is rapidly losing its natural resources. Unless economic evaluation of environmental degradation is done, the country would not realise what it is losing out on, they said.

Skin is the largest organ in our bodies, accounting for 16 percent of our weight. Skin has many functions, including protecting against outside influences such as shock, chemicals, microorganisms, ultraviolet radiation, heat and cold.

Skin is also important in regulating body temperature and touch.

Skin has a remarkable ability to care for itself and repair flaws, which is an essential prerequisite if we are to survive in a tough environment.

Many of us choose to use skin care products to enhance the natural protection and increase the feeling of comfort and pleasure. Skin and beauty care products made from natural ingredients have been around for thousands of years.

Recipes have been found in archaeological finds from China, the Middle East and Africa, and examples of the ingredients include ox bile and whipped ostrich eggs.

Since then a lot has happened and today’s products contain both natural and synthetic ingredients and come with advanced features.
